Gem of the Day: I’d like mouse…
I was chatting with my kidders about what we might have for Thanksgiving dinner. I had teased. Hmm. Maybe we should mix it up a bit and have liver and brussel sprouts….EWWWWWW! of course, was the response from my darlings.
We continued to chat about the required items, with all the usual suspects: pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes, and the biggest turkey I can toss into the cart. Then I asked if they might like something special for dessert. In all seriousness, my 11 year old said, you know I’d really like chocolate mouse. Then Timmy joined in and said, yeah, that’s a great idea! Well, I tried not to bust out laughing and said. Hmm. Well, why don’t guys look it up, and make it together, and that can be your contribution to the meal. I had to add in there at the end, I THINK it might be called chocolate mousse, though, not sure, but I think so…
I couldn’t help but snicker to myself as it reminded me of another conversation that we had earlier in the week in which one of their friends said that they were making chocolate covered rats this weekend. I have to imagine that’s some sort of Halloween delicacy, or at least I hope so….guess it must be the year of the rodent!
