This Week’s Mom’s Talk Topic: Sending Your Kid Packing

Feel free to comment on this week’s Mom’s Talk topic, how do you and your child   prepare when they are going away on their own?  Although my son has been away for week long stretches, it has been in the care of a very familiar relative–thank you dear God for Auntie Ann.  This will be the first time he will be flying solo, although he will be with kids he knows from boy scouts and two parents he’s known for years will also be there.  I’m trying to not make a big deal about it before hand, and hoping he will come through with flying colors.  Would love any suggestions anyone might have to ease this “big boy” step of independence.
