Eating out with Kids
Here’s this week’s Mom’s Council Topic on Herndon Patch:

Although I love to cook, I also like to get my little heinie waited on as well. As a result, we are frequent patrons in restaurants, and have been dragging our kids out to eat since birth. My husband and I have tried very hard to insist on good behavior in restaurants–our definition being: sit relatively still, use indoor voices and try to enjoy the company of those present as best we can. I get a bit wiggy when I see kids running around, yelling or just plain exhibiting poor behavior when we go out. I can appreciate that we all have our bad days, and sometimes unavoidable delays occur when dining in a restaurant. This can often translate into periods that are longer than little people can reasonably handle. But, I often don’t see parents correcting their kids and just let them be without trying to reel them in. I don’t understand how it’s not painfully obvious that they are also affecting other people’s dining experience as well. So, yeah. This is definitely one of my pet peeves…
