Little Things Mean A Lot…

I’m a simple person, and truly believe that some of the simplest things in life are truly some of the things that make you the happiest…just a little ramble on some of those things….
- Hey dad, you really ought to listen to mom, she kinda knows a lot about gardening you know….
- Shuffle, shuffle, shuffle as my son walks into my room, gives me smooch and says good morning mom, love you.
- When the gas tank returns full when your husband takes your car.
- Driving up to the grocery store and finding the spot closest to the store is ready and waiting for you.
- My other son grabbing my robe and slippers for me so I can join him downstairs in the morning.
- That big fat grin on my face when the car ahead of me pays my toll for me–yes this has actually happened more than once…
- My wonderful hubby folding the sheets for me so I can get a shower–he folds so much better than me!
- Finding the quarter in the vending machine when you are picking your selection. I know it’s only a quarter, but it still makes me happy.
- Doing laundry on vacation with your extended family only to find that the “laundry fairy” has folded your laundry. LOVE the laundry fairy 🙂
- Receiving a long, juicy, actual real piece of mail from a long ago friend.
- Opening the mailbox and finding no bills.
- Finding backpacks hung up and shoes on the shoe rack without a single nag. The nagging must be working!
- Pulling that first ripe tomato off of the plant in the garden.
- The smell of fresh baked cookies wafting from the oven.
- A bouquet of flowers for no particular reason.
- When someone lets you ahead of them in the grocery store line.
- Control of the remote after a long day.
- Finding a ten spot in a coat from last season.
- Getting a call from a long ago friend.
It’s amazing how those little things in life really make a difference in how you are feeling. So do something kind, unprovoked. Wish that cranky person standing next to you in line a great day. Spring some brownies or some flowers just because. You’ll feel good knowing that you made a difference in the outcome of someone’s day.
